About Us
The Pikes Peak Genealogical Society (PPGS), a nonprofit organization, was founded in 1980 with 141 charter members. As of 2010, the membership numbers approximately 200.
The society is administered by an executive board of elected officers and volunteers who serve two-year terms. Some of the principal objectives of the society are to:
- Promote an interest in genealogy
- Encourage and instruct members in genealogical research
- Locate, preserve and index public and private genealogical records
- Support genealogical facilities open to the public
