While Pikes Peak Library District provides access to Ancestry.com Library Edition and Fold3 military databases at our local libraries, military ID card holders can access these useful genealogical resources for free at home.
To reach them, go to www.dodmwrlibraries.org and click on “Biography and Genealogy.” Boxes for Ancestry and Fold3 will appear. Click on “Access.”

Fill in your DoD identification number and date of birth, and you’re ready to research.
Fold3 includes many U.S. military–related records and military records from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
Be sure to check out other categories on the home page as they provide free access to databases such as Consumer Reports and many contemporary newspapers and periodicals.
Former PPGS president J Richards is a retired Air Force colonel.
